Congratulations to those recognised for their contribution to the arts16.02.2021
We would like to congratulate all of the incredible artists and arts workers who were recognised for their contributions to the arts at the 2021 Australia Day Awards.
We would especially like congratulate former RANSW Board Member and Chair, Lindy Hume who was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for her significant service to the performance arts, particularly to opera.
Lindy was appointed to the RANSW Board in April 2010, where she served until her term expired in April 2016. She was Chair from April 2012 to April 2013 where her experience in the sector greatly contributed to the network. Lindy is currently the Artistic Director on Ten Day on the Island Festival and of Queensland Opera. She is renowned for her innovative approaches towards productions.
We would also like to acknowledge Yass Valley-based artist Peter Crisp, who was awarded a Medial of the Order of Australia (OAM) for his service to the creative arts, particularly as a glass sculptor. Over the past four decades, Peter has exhibited his work across the world and has even been commissioned to create glass giftware and tableware for His Royal Highness Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, former president George W. Bush and the Royal Families of Luxembourg, Spain and Thailand.
Peter’s work can also be found at the Crisp Galleries Australia in Bowning NSW. We encourage you to book an appointment and explore the beautiful gallery and gardens when you are next in this region!
