Create NSW announces recipients for Round 1 of 2019/2020 Arts and Cultural Funding17.12.2019
Create NSW has announced $7mil in arts and cultural funding across the state for the first round of annual project funding, with a large proportion of the 141 recipients being regionally based projects and organisations.
Round 1 of funding includes $2.7m for regional NSW in support of the likes of The New England Bach Festival, Songwriters & Original Musicians Association Dubbo Inc., The Wagga Wagga Writers Writers Inc., Dubbo Regional Council’s Educational Stop Motion Adventure Activity, The Murray Arts Inc. Burraja gallery and many more.
Here is a snapshot of the Arts and Cultural Funding Program Round 1 2019/20:
- Annual Organisation funding of $4,803,935 (up 20% on 2018/19) will support 65 recipients across 27 regional, 24 metro Sydney and 14 Western Sydney-based organisations.
- 30% of annually funded applicants are new with 55% of these from regional NSW and Western Sydney.
- Project funding of $2,119,587 will support 69 diverse activities including 25 regional and 10 Western Sydney-based projects.
- Creative Koori Projects funding will support 7 major Aboriginal arts and cultural projects from organisations across regional NSW and Western Sydney.
Round 2 of Create NSW’s Annual Organisations, Project and Creative Koori Projects funding will open 3 February 2020 and close 2 March 2020.
