New Far North Coast partnership invites creatives to develop and showcase their work09.09.2019
A new partnership between Far North Coast based arts company, RealArtWorks.Inc and some of the Far North Coast’s key cultural bodies will enable creatives to take place in The un(Usual), a first of its kind, travelling, experimental live arts event celebrating artists of varying abilities.
This year’s event will be held in November in Lismore exploring the key theme What happens when our familiar becomes strange?
The event program will include multi-media projections on buildings, open air concerts, art installations, an art prize, artists markets, workshops, exhibitions, film, and performances of new work by emerging and professional creatives organisations such as Create Lismore.
According to Sunita Bala from RealArtWorks, The unusual is an opportunity for Creatives outside the Far North Coast to take part in a cultural holiday and be part of a larger cultural exchange between Cities. “We have artists travelling from as far as Tasmania, Victoria and Queensland to perform alongside our rich local talent. It’s an exciting opportunity for Creatives to develop, showcase and market their work for cultural export. Festivals such as The Awakening in Horsham were incredibly successful in showcasing the work of artists of varying ability to a wide and diverse audience.”
Expressions of interest are now open for creatives who would like to be involved.
