ABC Heywire Looking for Young Regional Change Makers for their 2020 Trailblazers Program11.06.2019
ABC Heywire is looking to shine a light on young regional change makers for their 2020 Trailblazers program. This is an excellent opportunity to show the grassroots work being done to make regional Australia a better place.
Individuals and groups of up to three young people aged between 18-28, who are working on projects that provide positive outcomes for regional Australia, are encouraged to apply.
Successful applicants receive an incredible package of support, including media, networking, and mentorship opportunities to help them share the story of their work with the nation. They also receive an all expenses paid trip to the Trailblazers Lab in Canberra, February 2020.
Previous initiatives spotlighted by the Trailblazer program include a support group for young people who had lost their parents to cancer, a street art trail that helped revive a small town’s economy, and a mental health project that links rural NSW farmers with local businesses and health services.
ABC Heywire is an annual regional youth project that has been run by the ABC in conjunction with the Australian Government since 1998.
Applications close Friday 5 July 2019.
