Milparanga Scholarship Applications Open for First Nations Arts Leaders and Practitioners19.03.2019
Scholarship applications are now open for First Nations arts leaders and practitioners wishing to participate in the Milparanga Program, a cross industry leadership program with a focus on regional and remote Australia.
The Australia Council for the Arts has partnered with the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation (ARLF) to offer two scholarships for First Nations arts leaders to participate in Milparanga over the 2019-2020 period.
Run by the ARLF, Milparanga was formerly known as the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Leaders Program (NATSILP). It aims to develop and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leadership over a six month program that honours Indigenous knowledge, philosophies and reclaiming language.
Participants will have the unique opportunity to meet with accomplished First Nations practitioners, mentors, coaches and more, who will provide leadership guidance and engage them in robust, challenging and powerful conversations about the Indigenous landscape.
The program will commence in either June 2019 or July 2019 (check the ARLF website) and participants will also receive a residential session during September 2019 in Canberra.
Scholarship applications close 18 April 2019
