Arts North West | Applications Now Open for Gunnedah Shire Council's 2019 Arts and Cultural Funding Program25.03.2019
Gunnedah Shire Council has opened its second funding round for its competitive annual Arts and Cultural Funding Program, after the successful launch of its inaugural round last year.
Aimed at enriching the artistic and cultural landscape of the Gunnedah Shire, the Program supports new and existing community-driven projects, initiatives and events that increase the profile and participation of local arts and culture. It is one of the only Council-funded programs in NSW that supports arts and cultural programs, projects and events.
Of particular interest are applications which target communities in the Shire’s outlying villages, the needs of the local Indigenous community, issues of access and equity.
Recipients of last year’s funding program included not-for-profit arts and cultural groups within the Shire.
Prospective applicants must have arts and cultural projects, programs or events that fit into the below general categories:
- Fine art and craft;
- Dancing and choreography;
- Entertainment and performance;
- Music and singing;
- Production, and;
Projects can span up to 12 months and successful applicants can apply for successive annual funding rounds.
Applications close Friday 12 April.
