2019 NAIDOC Grant Funding Now Open18.02.2019
Is your community holding a NAIDOC Week celebration? Local grants are now open to support events and activities that celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.
The Australian Government has committed $1.4 million in funding for NAIDOC activities to be held during National NAIDOC Week from 7 – 14 July 2019.
The 2019 National NAIDOC Week theme, Voice. Treaty. Truth. Let’s work together for a shared future recognises Australia’s Indigenous identity was formed over 65,000 years ago and remains ingrained in our national fabric today.
Ideas for activities and events include:
- Arts and cultural
- Family fun days
- Elders’ activities
- Bush tucker and other community cooking
- NAIDOC-themed sporting activities or competitions
- Promoting reconciliation
- Flag raising ceremonies
- Promoting health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Applications close 5:00 pm (AEDT) Monday 25 February 2019.
