Eastern Riverina Arts | EOI Programmer Curator22.01.2019
Eastern Riverina Arts is seeking expressions of interest from qualified and/or experienced programmers/curators from the arts + disability sector to join the team delivering the PLATFORM project over the next 18 months.
PLATFORM aims to increase the participation and visibility of artists and people with disability at community festivals across the Riverina. It is expected that PLATFORM will participate in 10 events over this time.
PLATFORM is a purpose-built, portable, accessible ‘space’ adapted from a shipping container. It can be configured as a sensory space, chill out area, exhibition space or small stage.
The space will be offered free of charge, alongside an accessible toilet, advice and assistance on increasing accessibility to community-based festivals and cultural events.
The role of the PROGRAMMER/CURATOR will be to work with the team to program artists with disability to present work at the festivals. This work is not limited to any artform but will need to complement the festival’s own programming.
The position is extremely flexible. There is no requirement to work in our office, the work can be done remotely. There are no set hours. You may be employed casually or contract on a fee for service model. A rough guide might be 10-20 hours per event.
People with disability are encouraged to apply. Please feel free to factor in any additional support you might need. Applications from curatorial teams are also encouraged. Applications featuring an emerging curator working with an experienced mentor will also be considered.
The expression of interest is not a job application but an opportunity to start a conversation with the PLATFORM team.
To submit an Expression of Interest please email by Tuesday January 29 to PLATFORM@easternriverinaarts.org.au.
