Expressions of Interest Open for the 2019 River of Art Festival

Eurobodalla’s River of Art Festival is calling out to local and visiting visual artists, performers and community groups across all art forms to submit expressions of interest for the 2019 program.
The River of Art provides a spring board for new initiatives, early career artists, Indigenous artists, young performers, established groups, schools and people of all ages, to exhibit or perform. The Festival encourages entrants to think outside the box!
The 2019 River of Art Festival will run from 17 to 27 May 2019, showcasing the visual arts, craft, performance and musical creativity from South Durras to Bermagui.

Get Involved

The 2019 festival will be the fourteenth year of River of Art and the event continues to grow and evolve. The 2019 festival will again be an exciting, eclectic mix of different art forms, featuring visual arts, music, theatre, performance, poetry, storytelling and cultural celebrations as well as innovative workshops, music and much more.
The 2019 River of Art Festival will return to a longer format – running for 11 days, 17-27 May, with 2 exciting weekends, bookending the Art Trail of exhibitions, galleries and Open Studios throughout the Eurobodalla Shire for the length of the festival. The second weekend will align with the Canberra Reconciliation Day long weekend.
Co-Chairs, Di Jay and Robin Scott-Charlton are looking for people who might like to volunteer or join the 2019 Committee. It is a fun and collaborative way to contribute to the River of Art Festival and support local artists and performers. You can give as much or as little time as you wish in a range of ways from event coordination, administration or assistance with exhibition hanging. Contact Di Jay on 0411 481 988 or Robin Scott-Charlton on 0423 313 570 for more information.
If you are at all interested in the Festival, you are also invited to join a public workshop on 7 December, to gauge feedback on previous festivals and begin programming the 2019 festival. The workshop will be held at the Moruya Golf Club from 4pm Friday 7 December.

Open Studios

For the 2019 Festival, the application process for Open Studios will be managed directly by the Arts Coordinator at the Eurobodalla Shire Council who will provide information about the application process. Open Studios are very popular and, as always, will be promoted energetically by the River of Art through various media. Please contact the Arts Coordinator at Council on 02 44741000 if you require further information.

River of Art Prize

The River of Art Prize will again be part of the 2019 River of Art Festival. Applications for this prestigious competition will be called for at a later date. The $2,000 prize purse allows the Festival to recognise and support local artistic excellence.
