Regional Arts NSW | Regional Arts Fund Provides Small Festival Support17.07.2018
Running an arts festival in regional NSW? Suffering volunteer burnout? A new stream as part of the Regional Arts Fund can help build your event with a paid coordinator.
At Regional Arts NSW, we know how hard volunteers work in regional communities, and that sometimes the juggle between work, life and festival management can be overwhelming. As part of the Regional Arts Fund, the Small Festival Support funding stream is available to help regional festivals employ a part-time arts worker and lift your festival to a more sustainable footing. The stream is a pilot project, and will provide 3 festivals $10,000 per annum across 2019-2020.
The opportunity is for the current open Regional Arts Fund round, and won’t be available next year. CEO of Regional Arts NSW, Elizabeth Rogers, is urging all volunteer festivals to apply.
“Two years funding for a support position enables the festival team to plan and grow. I know how much work goes into running these events that are so important to regional communities and there is no other specific funding program for a festival coordinator position. I really encourage festival committees to put in an application.”
The Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund supports sustainable cultural development in regional and remote Australia, and is designed to benefit arts practitioners, arts workers, audiences and communities. In New South Wales, the Regional Arts Fund is administered by Regional Arts NSW.
Applications for the Regional Arts Fund close Friday 10 August 2018, 5:00pm AEST, for 2019 and 2019-2020 projects. For more information about the program, including guidelines and instructions, visit regionalartsnsw.com.au/grants/raf/ or call us on (02) 9270 2500.
