Bundanon Trust Announces First Peoples Residencies09.07.2018
A special opportunity for NSW Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists to undertake supported residencies at Bundanon in 2019 with support from Create NSW.
Bundanon’s Artist-in-Residence program is the largest and most diverse in Australia. Since 1997 we have hosted thousands of artists from all disciplines and from all over the world (over 34 countries). Bundanon is now an engine room for contemporary art practice in Australia – a place with outstanding facilities, dedicated to the making of contemporary work across all disciplines.
Bundanon’s First Peoples Residencies offer Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists based in NSW the opportunity to undertake supported residencies. They are open to NSW-based Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists from in all disciplines. This includes visual artists, writers, performers, producers, directors, composers, curators and educators. Residencies can be for research and development or for the creation of new work.
Residencies can be for any period between seven days and six weeks. Successful applicants will receive:
- Accommodation and studio space at Bundanon Trust
- Stipend of $1000 per week
- Travel support
Bundanon are also offering a small number of residencies for senior artists with a stipend of $2000 per week. These will be awarded competitively based on the applicants’ achievements across their career.
