The New England Regional Art Museum Ltd (NERAM) is searching for a new Director. The Board is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced person to take charge of programs and provide leadership to staff, as the organisation moves towards the gallery’s next stage of development. The successful candidate, as the leader of NERAM, will provide a clear vision associated with artistic excellence and ability to care for and manage significant art collections. We will be looking for demonstrated experience in management, fundraising and sponsorship, with proven ability to generate income through philanthropic and government support.
NERAM is located in Armidale, NSW which is a vibrant regional cultural and education centre with The University of New England, six high schools, including 3 private boarding schools, The New England Conservatorium of Music and a diverse range of cultural activities.
NERAM is an independent gallery with the Director reporting to a skills-based board. There is a staff of 6 (full and part time) and an active group of over 90 volunteers. NERAM is home to the Howard Hinton Collection, the Chandler Coventry Collection and its own substantial NERAM Collection. Visiting exhibitions and the works of local artists supplement these major collections to form a broad and exciting resource for the 20 + exhibitions we show each year.
Salary and benefits will be negotiated and dependent on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant.
