About Bathurst

Bathurst really is the best of both worlds – a beautiful country lifestyle just two and a half hours from Sydney. Bathurst is Australia’s oldest inland settlement located just over 200 kilometres west of Sydney on the Macquarie River. The region is conveniently located with effective transport links to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra and there is no shortage of things to see and do if you want to explore or take a lazy Sunday drive.

About the Role

Do you have passion for minerals and fossils? Would you love to tell your friends that you work with dinosaurs?
The Australian Fossil & Mineral Museum houses Australia’s largest collection of fossils in amber, fossilised dinosaur eggs and some of the oldest fossils of early forms of life as well as having three dinosaur skeletons on exhibition. We are looking for two people who have a passion for fossils and minerals to fill the permanent part time roles of Museum Assistant.
The roles will involve retail operations, assisting with events/functions and providing positive visitor experiences through your knowledge of the Museum.
Ideally the successful applicants will have experience in a museum or tourism environment, have exceptional interpersonal skills to provide quality customer service to venue patrons and have computer skills including word processing, maintaining databases and websites and updating social media platforms.
