Murray Arts | Invisible Graffiti Stencil Artwork EOI19.12.2017
Ever secretly desired to be a Graffiti artist? With invisible water proof paint?
AlburyCity and the Office of Environment and Heritage are working in partnership to create Sloane’s froglet stencil artworks with water proof paint. The aim is to maintain a viable population of the Sloane’s froglet in Thurgoona by drawing attention to the habitat and raising community awareness, critical to the survival of the Sloane’s froglet. This local Thurgoona froglet species is currently listed as vulnerable in NSW, so ongoing projects are vital to upkeep the habitat and grow community understanding, appreciation and pride for this small yet significant froglet species. Find out more information about the Sloane’s froglet HERE.
The Sloane’s froglet’s breeding season is during Winter, when they are actively calling and therefore most noticeable in the landscape. This project aims to take full advantage of this timing, utilising increased rainfall to draw attention to the froglet along footpaths, bicycle paths and in high traffic community areas.
The concept is to create Sloane’s froglet stencil artworks with water proof paint, that is almost invisible when dry and reveals itself when wet.
