Opportunity Knocks with Regional Song Contest

Australia’s 4th annual Regional Song Contest is now open with a sensational acoustic guitar prize on offer, plus 6 months professional tuition and live performances at the 2018 Tamworth Country Music Festival.The Regional Song Contest is run by the Australian Music Company, Fretfest Pty Ltd, credited with discovering Pete Murray.
Former winner 17yo Harry Marshall from Emerald in Central Queensland went on to perform with Mumford & Sons and signed to The A&R Department to pursue his music career, internationally. 2016 winner, 16yo Molly Millington from Woy Woy on the NSW central Coast, went on to place in the Top 10 of the Tamworth
Busking Competition
, won the grommet section of the 2017 Bluesfest Busking competition and also won the 2017 Today’s Country 94.1 Brand New Star competition.
fRETfEST is the professional music industry platform that produced some of Australia’s most successful songwriters, including Pete Murray who went on to sell over 1 million albums. Operating as a singer songwriter showcase since 1997, it also gave rise to Bobby Flynn who went on to star in Australian Idol, Mark Lowndes who went on to star in Australia’s Got Talent, and Jac Stone who went on to star in The Voice.
