Regional Arts NSW | Annual Dinner & 2017 Board21.04.2017
On the evening of Wednesday 19th April Regional Arts NSW (RANSW) brought together the RANSW Network and industry stakeholders for the RANSW Annual Dinner at Wolfies Grill, The Rocks. The dinner followed a productive day, with the Chairs of the Regional Arts Development Organisations (RADO) meeting for the annual Advisory Council Meeting and Annual General Meeting.
The Minister for the Arts, Hon. Don Harwin MLC, and Vic McEwan, artist and Artistic Director of the Cad Factory, Narrandera were the guest speakers.
At the Board meeting the following day the Directors of Regional Arts NSW elected a new Chair, Stephen Champion. Stephen Champion has been the Manager of the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre since 2003 and has worked professionally in the performing arts for thirty four years. Joining him in the role of Deputy Chair is Ben Roche, Director of Engagement at Southern Cross University. David Dwyer continues his role as Treasurer. New directors joining the Board for 2017 are Sharni Jones (Manager, Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Collection, Australian Museum) and Gavin Findlay (General Manager of the Canberra International Music Festival). Sharni and Gavin bring to the RANSW board art-form expertise, knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts, experience in public policy, stakeholder engagement and strategic development.
The new Chair, Stephen Champion thanked outgoing Directors who have completed their terms and acknowledged Peter White, Naomi Messenger and Stephen Bradley for their significant contribution to the Company.
