Entries Open for Maggie Diaz Photography Prize for Women

The Maggie Diaz Photography Prize for Women has returned for its second year, seeking entries from women photographs spanning all ages, backgrounds and career levels for the $5,000 non-acquisitive first prize. Finalists will also have the opportunity to take out the $1,000 People’s Choice Award.

The prize commemorates American born Melbourne photographer Maggie Diaz, a leading commercial photographer and recognised for her use of available light. Diaz was a trailblazer for Australian women photographers, and captured the essence of Melbourne’s artistic and wider community for over four decades.

The only requirement of entries into the Maggie Diaz Photography Prize for Women is that artists must use available light within their images. A shortlist will be determined by a panel of judges, and finalists will be exhibited at BRIGHTSPACE in early September 2017. This year’s panel of judges comprises of Hoda Afshar, Robert Imhoff and Julie Millowick.

Entries close Friday 14 July 2018 (7pm AEST).
