Arts OutWest | Kew-Y-Ahn Aboriginal Art Gallery Artist Callout21.03.2017
Are you Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander artist? Do you live in the NSW Central West? Do you want to sell your artwork?
Arts OutWest are currently looking for artists to exhibit and sell work at Kew-Y-Ahn Aboriginal Art Gallery at the Hartley Historic Site. The gallery, a joint initiative with National Parks and Wildlife Service, sells arts and cultural products made by Aboriginal artists and craftspeople, including:
- Weaving & baskets
- Art photography
- Textiles & clothing
- Handmade giftware
- Ceramics & pottery
Traditional and contemporary works are exhibited ; all styles are welcome. There are three rooms of gallery space, with secure display cabinets for small pieces. The gallery is open 6 days a week. Artists are able to set their own prices for their artwork.
Through an Aboriginal arts development program Arts OutWest also support Aboriginal musicians, film makers, dancers, actors and performers, writers, sharers of traditional culture and others in the creative industries. Arts OutWest offer:
- Exhibition opportunities in the region, in Sydney and elsewhere in the state
- Support developing your brand, your business plan and your professional practice
- Workshops in business development, art form development and marketing
- Advocacy and advice from an experienced Aboriginal artist with support from some of the country’s most respected Aboriginal arts practitioners
