Maitland City Council is responsible for providing a wide range of services to Maitland and its growing population. Council is seeking motivated professionals to complement its dynamic and diverse workforce.
Maitland Regional Art Gallery aims to deliver high quality, energetic and accessible art, cultural programming and enjoyment for the growing community of Maitland and its visitors and deliver its business within a sustainable growth framework.
As a Gallery Officer you will be the face of Maitland Regional Art Gallery and responsible for presenting a positive image of the Council and Gallery. This includes but is not limited to the provision of a high standard of customer service, promoting public awareness of Gallery programs, facilitating administrative and retail services and responsibility for opening and closing procedures.
To be successful in this role you will have a Certificate IV in Arts Administration, Business Administration or equivalent demonstrated experience. Further, you will have demonstrated experience providing services to a diverse audience through a high level customer service, information provision, sales and program promotions. You will have knowledge of Australian Art terms and a demonstrated passion for the visual arts.
This vacancy is casual in nature and hours will be based on the designated Group Roster spanning Tuesday to Sunday which includes evenings and weekends. Shift penalties will apply for weekend work.
