Creative Non-Fiction Festival 2017 Program Announced16.02.2017
Good books matter. Great journalism matters. Clear thinking matters. History matters. Creative non-fiction is the search for more eloquent and elegant ways to tell the truth in a world where demagogues seem bent on pursuing the ugliest way to frame a lie. The NSW Writers’ Centre Creative Non-Fiction Festival offers a full day in which readers and writers come together and immerse themselves in the writing world.
It’s all here – discussions of the topics that dominate the working lives of creative non-fiction writers: the joy and pain of research; the glamour and exhaustion of travel; the endless search for new ways to wrench a living out of words. The festival will hear about publishing from some of Australia’s leading publishers, and literary criticism from a panel of our foremost book reviewers.
In addition, this year’s guest of honour is the Stella Prize and Alice Award-winning author and historian Clare Wright, whose writing life has been spent in exploration of some of the things that matter the most in our culture.
Join the festival for a day you’ll never forget, when established writers will share their knowledge and new writers will be born.
