Bundanon Trust | 60+ Performance: Workshop Series

Bundanon Trust are presenting a number of social and creative workshops for people over 60 involving music, song and dance across Nowra, Shoalhaven Heads and Milton. These workshops are free and run from the 14th February to the 2nd of March. Bookings are essential and special needs access can be arranged by emailing regina@bundanon.com.au.

 
 

NOWRA WORKSHOPS

LISTENING DEEPLY
Led by Annette Tesoriero

This workshop investigates the involuntary nature of hearing and the voluntary, selective nature of listening. It explores the concept of deep listening in relation to breath, sound and voice. ‘If your life were a song that was improvised minute by minute, how can deep listening take your everyday improvisation of living to a place of integrity and fullness?’ (10 places are available)

BODY QUESTIONS
Led by Philip Channells
Through an exploration of movement and text derived from the lived experience of aging, taboos and self-determination, these workshops invite participants to look back across the decades and question their relationship to the world we are in now. (10 places available) Participants need to have basic fitness level. Attendance to all sessions is encouraged but not obligatory.

LANDSCAPE COMPOSING
Led by Damian Barbeler
Composer Damian Barbeler takes participants through a series of steps to imagine their own music inspired by the extraordinary Bundanon landscape. Participants will find inspiration in Arthur Boyd’s paintings, the beautiful landscape and work with an instrumental trio in a fun way to create their own Bundanon inspired music. (6 places available) Participants will enjoy nature/art/music.

THE RIVERSDALE EXPERIENCE
Breathe in the pristine beauty of Arthur Boyd’s Riversdale property, surrounded by bush and overlooking the beautiful Shoalhaven river. Experience the magnificence of the Boyd Education Centre, designed by world renowned architect Glenn Murcutt in 1997.

Be inspired by the natural landscape and take part in a deep listening, voice and movement session led by mezzo-soprano and community artist, Annette Tesoriero and choreographer and director of Dance Integrated Australia, Philip Channells. Enjoy a cuppa and refreshments in this tranquil setting.

AN INTRODUCTION TO VOCAL OUTRAGE

Are you a vocal outcast? Forbidden to sing, even in the shower? Speak out! Sing out! Be Heard!

Join forces with one of Australia’s most outrageous divas and discover what your voice can do! This fun workshop will run your voice through its paces, to strengthen it and encourage vocal flexibility.

SHOALHAVEN HEADS WORKSHOPS

LISTENING DEEPLY, JOYOUS VOICE

A voice workshop with a difference. Join community artist and mezzo-sporano Annette Tesoriero in an exploration of our listening, speaking and singing selves. This invigorating workshop will explore deep listening in relation to breath, sound and voice. Every breath ends, every sound decays, we are in essence ephemeral but abundant life is found in the smallest breath and the slightest sound.

Through an exploration of movement and text derived from the lived experience of ageing, taboos and self-determination, these workshops invite participants to look back across the decades and question their relationship to the world we are in now. Philip Channells is the founder and creative director of Dance Integrated Australia and is one of Australia’s leading disability-inclusive dance practitioners.

POOL PARTY PERFORMANCE
We invite you to attend an art-flavoured celebration. The Pool Party Performance is both relaxing and engaging – a contemporary arts event created and inspired by locals working with the experienced team of multidisciplinary artists: Annette Tesoriero, Damian Barbeler, Philip Channells and Sam James.
