Arts Job | General Manager, Hothouse Theatre

HotHouse Theatre is a leading professional theatre company in regional Australia, and receives core operational funding from the Australia Council for the Arts, Creative Victoria and Arts NSW.

HotHouse boasts national recognition for its significant history and achievements in the commissioning, producing, presenting and touring of original Australian work. In addition, the company delivers a range of creative development, community engagement and learning programs including the national residency program A Month in the Country.

The Board is seeking to appoint an outstanding candidate for this leadership role. The General Manager provides the crucial link between the artistic program and the sustainable management of the organisation. The position offers a unique opportunity for a successful applicant with general management, financial and advocacy skills in a creative and dynamic theatre environment.

The General Manager plays a leading advocacy role within the regional community, with three tiers of government, at a political level and with corporate and philanthropic partners. The General Manager is responsible for managing the financial health of HotHouse Theatre and providing vision, leadership and entrepreneurial ideas in exploiting the Company’s assets and branding non-performance related businesses in ways that are responsive to patrons and competitive conditions.
