Murray Arts strives to support arts practice that is integral to our local communities, local government and in our everyday lives. Murray Arts, a not for profit Regional Arts Development Organisation, is seeking an experienced arts administrator for the role of Executive Director to facilitate the implementation of our cultural development program across the region.
Salary $65,000 – $75,000pa + car (neg.)
Murray Arts has a track record of innovative projects, strong partnerships, vibrant networks, experienced staff, financial sustainability and sound governance practice. As one of 14 Regional Arts Development Organisations in NSW, we are based in Albury-Wodonga and are well supported by the NSW State Government via Arts NSW and our local Government partners – City of Wodonga, Indigo, and Towong Shires in Victoria and Albury, Greater Hume, and Federation Shires in NSW.
The successful applicant will have excellent administration and management skills, be self-motivated and have extensive knowledge of the not-for-profit arts sector and the ability to work with a diverse range of individuals and groups across a broad section of the community. The position requires good interpersonal skills, understanding of arts and cultural development and experience working with government funding bodies, especially Arts NSW. Flexible hours and extensive regional travel is expected.
Answering to the Board of Directors and working in a small team, the main duties include:
- Implement and manage a comprehensive range of arts and cultural activities across the region.
- Develop and maintain effective communication and working relationships with funding bodies, contributing local government authorities and arts organisations located within the Murray Arts region, encompassing the LGAs of Albury, Greater Hume and Federation in NSW as well as Wodonga, Indigo and Towong in Victoria.
- Broker and facilitate partnerships and provide support and advice to artists and arts organisations within the region.
- Manage all administrative and operational functions of the organisation including finance, personnel and communications.
