EOI | Sculptures in the Garden Call for Artworks
08.08.2016Artists are invited to an open call for submissions to one of the largest sculpture exhibitions in rural NSW – Sculptures in the Garden 2016.
Held over two days, Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 October 2016, this not for profit outdoor exhibition gives local, regional and interstate artists an avenue to exhibit their works in beautiful rural surroundings within a private garden and vineyard in Mudgee NSW.
Prizes and Awards
- $15,000 – Sculptures in the Garden and Mid-Western Regional Council Acquisition.
From money raised from Sculptures in the Garden 2015, SIG and MWRC will be purchasing a sculpture or sculptures from the 2016 exhibition up to the value of $15,000. The acquired work/s will be part of the Mid Western Regional Council public art collection - $5,000 – Moolarben Acquisition Prize.
The winning acquisition will be part of the Mid-Western Regional Council’s public art collection. - $2,000 – Friends of Sculptures in the Garden Acquisition Prize.
The winning acquisition will be part of the Mid-Western Regional Council’s public art collection. - $500 – People’s Choice Award.
Festival Highlights
- An estimated 3,000 visitors are anticipated to visit the exhibition over the two days.
- At the 2015 event, we displayed over 250 sculptures and sold 50% of the artworks.
- Proceeds from the weekend exhibition go to a local arts initiative to develop a sculpture walk in Mudgee’s Lawson Park.
- At the 2015 event, over $16,000 was raised by the Mudgee Support Group for Guide Dogs NSW/ACT.
