EOI | Non-Executive Board Directors for HotHouse Theatre

HotHouse Theatre is a leading professional regional theatre company in Australia, and has been operating at the Butter Factory Theatre on Gateway Island, Wodonga since 1997.

HotHouse currently delivers an annual season of high quality contemporary theatre, runs extensive professional training programs, facilitates a national performing arts creative development program, and delivers a range of programs across the region as part of the HotHouse Drama School.

The Federal Government, through the Australia Council for the Arts, and the Victorian and NSW state governments through Creative Victoria and Arts NSW respectively have recently confirmed multiyear funding. The organisation also generates income through the delivery of a range of its annual programs and services.

In 2017 HotHouse will celebrate 20 years since it morphed from the Murray River Performing Group into HotHouse Theatre, and took up residence at the Butter Factory Theatre.

Three to five new non-executive Board Directors are sought for appointment over the next nine months. These appointments will demonstrate a commitment and capacity to apply strategic thought, capacity and leadership in support of the HotHouse Theatre and its stated objectives. Skills and capacity in strategic and digital marketing, social enterprise and impact investment, philanthropy and fundraising, financial management and community leadership are particularly relevant.

New non-executive Board Directors are appointed with reference to a skills matrix that takes into consideration Board diversity including age, gender, culture, geographic location, ties to the local Albury-Wodonga community and broader region, and relevant experience. Non-executive Board Director roles are voluntary positions appointed on an initial 3-year term.
