After 30 years administering the Country Arts Support Program (CASP), everyone’s favourite small grants program, there are some important changes for those thinking about applying for 2017 projects.
The application date has been moved forward.
Applications will open 30 May and close 28 July. Why the change? We know that funding announcements close to the December holiday are a bit late for those with projects starting in January and February. So we’ve moved the dates forward in the year to give you more certainty about your 2017 plans.
We’ve moving online.
All applications will now be made online using Arts NSW secure on-line grants system, SmartyGrants. This program is fast becoming the standard for government and non-government grants management. Once you have done it once, you will find it easy. It cuts down on paper usage, record keeping and streamlines all the behind the scenes processing. All the assessments will still be done locally. It’s just the dates and the way you apply that will change. So keep developing those fabulous projects for your community. All the details are on our website. Your local regional arts development organisation is there to help.
Regional Arts Fund is changing too.
Yes, moving across to SmartyGrants for the 2017 round. Why? It’s a bit silly for us to be using two different grants management systems. The guidelines and applications have all been revised and simplified. Keep your eye out for a new RAF category to be announced shortly. RAF will open 20 June and close 7 August. So start planning! This is a very competitive program in NSW.
