Regional living changes music making for comms officer15.04.2015
At the handover of the Regional Arts Australia conference from Kalgoorlie to Dubbo in October last year the audience was treated to a ‘shimmer’ stream of tweets accompanied by a soundtrack by Bassling aka Jason Richardson, musician and communications officer at Western Riverina Regional Arts.
Using contact microphones Jason records the sounds of objects around him.
Jason has come to Leeton from Canberra via Wagga Wagga and produced this video for ABC Open on how regional living has changed his music.
You can find out more about Jason at Bassling and catch him, Tuesday 28 April on ABC24 at 11.55 am and 5.55 pm.
ABC Open is also interested in hearing from people who would like learn how to storyboard, shoot and edit a short video, and publish it on the ABC.
The theme for the video is ‘Makers and Creators’. Profile an artist or craftsperson in your community. Showcase their talents, inspiration and methods. Choose anyone from a painter or jeweller, to a ukulele maker or tea-towel designer.
Sonya Gee, ABC Open producer for the Riverina would love to hear from you if you’re interested in joining a free workshop series. Over four sessions she’ll teach you everything you need to know about making a great video that your friends will want to watch from start til finish.
You don’t need experience or fancy gear, but you do need to be keen to learn about filmmaking and the artist story you want to tell.
Sound like you?
