Aboriginal Cultural Showcase- WALK UP Performances

The Aboriginal Cultural Showcase is a week long annual event held during the Tamworth Country Music Festival. The showcase will run for its eighth year in 2015.  It has been developed to expose and develop the talent of new emerging Aboriginal musicians and to create a variety of opportunities for Aboriginal musicians, performers and craftspeople to celebrate and promote their talents and culture throughout the Tamworth Country Music Festival program.

Walk-Up Sessions will be scheduled from 4pm to 7pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Musicians and performers of any level of talent, from young to old, brand new to seasoned performers are invited to come and have a go, show your stuff and get some experience on our stage. Walk-Up performances are 15 minutes duration, or 3 songs each.

Over the years the Showcase has seen performers as young as four years old to those with many years of performing under their belts, get up to enjoy the opportunity of performing on the Cultural Showcase stage with our band.  Walk-ups are an opportunity to perform and get a feel for the stage for the very first time, test new material or techniques on stage and gauge audience reaction, or just be able to put on your resume that you have performed on stage at the Tamworth Country Music Festival.  Whatever your motivation, the walk-ups welcome everyone, so don’t be ashamed!  Get up and show off the talent of our mob!

As an additional opportunity the stage will be available for busking between 11am and 4pm from Tuesday, 20 January to Saturday 24 January.
