Stunning Array of Artworks for Arts Table 2014

A stunning array of artworks has been donated by artists from the regions for the silent auction to be held on Tuesday 11 November as part of the major fundraiser for Artlands 2016.

Works range from a stainless steel sculpture to a ceramic coolamon and digging stick, to an acrylic on canvas donated by finalist in the Parliament of New South Wales Aboriginal Art Prize and RANSW Aboriginal Arts Development Officer, Anthony Walker.

Regional Arts NSW CEO, Elizabeth Rogers, said Regional Arts New South Wales was overwhelmed by the generosity of artists from the regions .

‘We want to say thank you for these works. This is a great opportunity for people living in Sydney to own original artwork and support the Regional Arts Australia conference and arts festival in Dubbo,’ Ms Rogers said.

‘Now that the announcement has been made that Dubbo will be host there is a lot of excitement and people here can contribute to making the conference a success,’ she said.

Guest speaker for the dinner is the Deputy Premier and Minister for the Arts, the Hon Troy Grant.

Walsh Bay Arts precinct restaurants, Dedes on the Wharf, Lotus Dumpling Bar, Seawall, Simmer on the Bay, and Sydney Dance Lounge will provide the sumptuous five course degustation dinner with Pinnaroo Estate Wines donating the matched wines for each course. Other businesses Fratelli Fresh, Sonoma Bread and Vittoria Coffee are also supporting the event.

There will also be live entertainment from regional entertainers, Heath Cullen from the south coast and Rita Walford, a rising star from Tamworth. Cullen’s new album, The Still and The Steep, has been broadly praised and this will give a Sydney audience exposure to this wonderful talent who not only grew up in regional NSW but, despite his success, continues to live there.

Rita has just finished school and is looking forward to the opportunity to perform in Sydney. Read about Rita here.

A monster raffle with a major prize of a Zoofari Lodge package at Taronga Western Plains Zoo, schnapps from Jindabyne’s Wildbrumby distillery, a voucher from Ventuno – Pizzeria, Birreria, Enoteca – and CDs from the headline entertainer on the night, Heath Cullen. The Zoofari package includes accommodation in a unique luxury lodge, exclusive behind the scenes tours, African inspired dinner and breakfast, and two day Zoo admission and bike hire for two adults.

RANSW acknowledges the support of Swell Design, Integral Security, Taronga Western Plains Zoo and Innovative Production Services.
