RANSW AADO Finalist in Parliament of New South Wales Aboriginal Art Prize30.09.2014
Regional Arts NSW Aboriginal Arts Development Officer, Anthony Walker, (pictured) is a finalist in the Parliament of New South Wales Aboriginal Art Prize to be announced on Wednesday, 15 October, at the Campbelltown Arts Centre.
Anthony’s work, It’s a Celebration of Black Excellence, was one of 36 works chosen as a finalist for the an annual acquisitive art award, with prize money totalling $40,000.
The prize is organised by the Parliament of New South Wales in partnership with Campbelltown City Council, the New South Wales Government, through Arts NSW, the College of Fine Arts, UNSW and Coal & Allied.
He said he was very pleased to have his work chosen with work by other Aboriginal artists from New South Wales, especially those from regional NSW.
He said the artists from regional NSW include:- Bevan Skinner, Kevin Williams, Leonie Binge, Lola Binge, Luke Close, Mia Brennan, Michael Philp, Nicole Monks, Penny Evans, Sharon Smith, Terence Wright and Warwick Keen.
