NSW Arts Minister Guest Speaker at Walsh Bay Arts Table 2014

Deputy Premier and NSW Minister for the Arts, the Hon Troy Grant MP, will be guest speaker at the Walsh Bay Arts Table 2014 on Tuesday 11 November at 7pm.

Regional Arts NSW CEO, Elizabeth Rogers, said she was delighted the Deputy Premier and Minister was not only able to attend, but that he would speak at the dinner that will feature a five-course degustation menu, with matched regional wines.

Food has been donated by Walsh Bay Arts precinct restaurants, Dedes on the Wharf, Lotus Dumpling Bar, Sydney Dance Lounge and Simmer on the Bay with sponsorship from Fratelli Fresh, Sonoma Bread and Vittoria Coffee.

Ms Rogers said all proceeds from the dinner, co-hosted with Walsh Bay Arts and Commerce, will be used to deliver the Regional Arts Australia conference and Arts Festival – 2016 in regional NSW.

‘We’re very excited about the role Regional Arts NSW will play in delivering this conference that will showcase the excellence of arts practice throughout regional Australia. With our move to new premises in 2015, the dinner will also be our farewell to the wharf,’ Ms Rogers said.

Ms Rogers said one of the most exciting aspects of the evening will be the silent auction of high quality art donated by regional NSW artists, and entertainment from regional performers who were making their name in the entertainment world.

‘This is a fantastic opportunity for a Sydney audience not only to be exposed to but to own art created by an extraordinary range of artists who contribute to the increasingly vibrant and rich arts scene in their regions, and nationally and internationally,’ Ms Rogers said.

‘We’re thrilled to have Heath Cullen providing the entertainment for the evening. His new album, The Still and The Steep, has been broadly praised and to again be able to give a Sydney audience exposure to this wonderful talent who not only grew up in regional NSW but, despite his success, remains his home,’ she said.

‘We’ve also just confirmed that Aboriginal Tamworth singer, Rita Walford, will be also be performing on the night.’
