Pozible French Connection for Candelo Songstress05.08.2013
Indie singer-songwriter, Melanie Horsnell, has crafted her starry-eyed sound over a career playing with the likes of Sarah Blasko, Jason Mraz, Josh Pyke and Glen Hansard and The Frames. She was nominated for an APRA in 2011 and has been the voice behind many film soundtracks and commercials. Melanie’s most recent album is The Cloud Appreciation Society which was recorded in an old dairy below the black mountains in Candelo, the musical heartland and thriving scene in NSW’s south east.
The Australian says, “Horsnell is a songwriting gem, shining light on everyday life with gentle accuracy.”
Melanie ran a very successful Pozible crowdfunding campaign raising over $6000 in 6 weeks to help her record with French singer/songwriters. She created unique rewards for people who donated to her project including cloud brooches, French scarves, album downloads and home concerts. The songstress has established a distributor and fanbase in France since her earlier album The Adventures Of… included some French songs which hit high rotation on European radio a few years back. For this new EP she has already organised co-writes with acclaimed french lyricists and artists such as Helena Noguerra and poet Alain Rivet.
