Celebrating 35 years of providing quality music education programs and performance opportunities to communities in Lithgow, Bathurst Forbes and Parkes regions, the Mitchell Conservatorium is currently seeking an Executive Director.

After 9 years of service, the first full time Executive Director of Mitchell Conservatorium, Fiona Thompson, is retiring in order to focus on a number of local and regional projects as well as returning to string teaching and performing in the Bathurst Region.

This position offers an opportunity for an experienced, innovative and strategic leader to build on the music education programs across the three regions served by Mitchell Conservatorium, particularly in Early Childhood Music, Schools, Ensembles and Music Therapy.

The appointee would direct a strong and vibrant music performance program providing regional communities with access to outstanding Australian artists, concert opportunities for local professional musicians, as well as a variety of performance experiences for student and community musicians. With the assistance of the Corporate Services Manager, the Executive Director will manage the administrative team and oversee the professional development of teaching staff. The ability to provide oversight of the MC financial affairs would be expected.
