Creative Partnerships Australia01.03.2013
In February, Arts Minister Simon Crean announced that Fiona Menzies will be CEO of the new single agency to drive a new culture of giving and investment in Australia’s cultural sector. The agency has been named Creative Partnerships Australia and combines the work previously performed by the Australian Business Arts Foundation and Artsupport. This ammalgamation was recommended by Harold Mitchell in a report he released in 2011 on the private sector’s support and patronage of the arts.
Creative Partnerships Australia strengthens the Australian Government’s broader work in strengthening social investment in the not-for-profit sector and encouraging entrepreneurial skills across the economy.
Mr Crean said in a media release that Creative Partnerships Australia is a crucial part of the strategy in the much anticipated National Cultural Policy which will be launched this month (13 March 2013). The agency will be based in Melbourne.
Regional Arts NSW welcomes the news and congratulates Ms Menzies her appointment.
