Good things come in small packages - Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize14.02.2013
CALL FOR ENTRIES
The Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize is the only Australia-wide acquisitive prize that showcases the quality and diversity in sculptures of smaller dimensions. The call for entries is now open, welcoming national and international artists to submit freestanding sculptures up to 80 cm in any dimension.
The Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize is an acquisative prize totalling $13,000.
Last year, Thorhammer Beowulf claimed the major prize with ‘The Carbon Credit Machine‘ which encorporated a contraption-enclosed living bonsai designed to explore “the absurd hubris of human science and technology,” the artist statement said.
Each year approximately 40 finalists are exhibited for 16 days at the historic Redleaf Council Chambers in Double Bay. The free exhibition is launched annually in October and is open to the public.
