Wagga Wagga City Council are calling for expressions of interest for innovative and creative public art at Wagga Wagga Regional Airport, located at the outskirts of the city.
Applications are being called for the following locations:
Zone 1 –Wagga Wagga Regional Airport Car Park, Building, Façade & Signage
The council is seeking to install artwork that will enhace the experience of arriving visitors to Wagga Wagga. The piece or pieces should reflect something of the character of the city of Wagga.
Budget- $72 000
Zone 2 – Inside Wagga Wagga Regional Terminal Budget
Airport terminals can be emotional places. Meetings, partings, homecomings or embarking on adventures can stir excitement, sadness, frustration and fear.
Wagga Wagga airport terminal has two passenger waiting areas and passenger pick-up areas. The council is seeking to install an ‘immersive and interactive contemporary art works to engage this “captured audience” as they await arriving or departing planes.’
This is the place for lasting impressions, as the entry and departure point for all passengers travelling to the area by air. It is an opportunity to deliver a powerful message about the region’s local heritage and culture.
Budget – $90,000
