Home Is Where The Art Is21.01.2013
The Northern Rivers region is known for its creative and eccentric residents. That’s why the Lismore Regional Gallery wants a look at the unsual places where these locals hang their hats.
They are calling out for information and images of homes that defy the usual for an upcoming exhibition called, Not Quite Square. It will feature old photographs, architectural plans, stories and oral histories and newly commissioned photographs of existing owner-built houses.
The exhibition will celebrate ‘the multitude of wonderfully eccentric houses that have been designed, made and lived in by people of the Northern Rivers.’
If you live in or know of a house that is owner-built in the Northern Rivers region which challenges conventional house designs, or you have a story, photos or other documents to lend to the exhibition, contact the curator Kezia Geddes via phone 6622 2209 or email firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com .
Closing date for submissions – Wednesday February 20, 2013
Exhibition date – April 13 – June 2
