Street art activates Parkes High School01.10.2012
Parkes High School’s previously bland stairwell leading to the library has had a make-over street art style make-over thanks to a project funded by the Country Arts Support Program. Renowned Sydney street artist Andy Jumbo made his way to Parkes for two days in August to help 28 students from years from 7‐12 activate the space. The first step in the project was for students to meet with Dubbo artist Brigid Palin to create designs based on the key words from the school’s vision, motto, behaviour and literacy focus. ABC Open Central West’s Luke Wong helped students make short films and take photos of the process. Check out the Arts OutWest website for more information and images.
