Yellow House finds Armidale home

The New England Regional Art Museum in Armidale has acquired the painting Yellow House Triptych (2007) by celebrated Australian artist Margaret Olley. Despite private offers of more than $700,000, Olley had envisioned the painting to be acquired by a public institution and enjoyed by a wide audience. Olley passed away last year aged 88. Valued at around $440,000, NERAM fundraising group Packsaddle initiated the acquisition for the gallery’s Howard Hinton Collection. About half of the funds are now secured for the painting. Donations towards the acquisition can be made here.
