Euraba Papermakers unveil Biennale work01.07.2012
Indigenous art collective the Euraba Artists and Papermakers from north west NSW features in the 18th Biennale of Sydney, running now until September 16. The collective has collaborated with artist Monika Grzymala on a site-specific installation, The River, in the Turbine Hall Workshop at Cockatoo Island. The River features oval-shaped parchments hanging on fishing line from the Turbine Hall ceiling. The Euraba collective began papermaking in 1998, working with cotton offcuts from the local clothing industry in Boggabilla. The 18th Biennale of Sydney: All Our Relations is on exhibit at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, Pier 2/3 in Walsh Bay, Cockatoo Island and Carriageworks.
